IN THE TORNE VALLEY
PANORAMA HOTEL AND COTTAGE RESORT
Resort Center Karemajat is located in Ylitornio on top of Ainiovaara with rugged landscapes of southern Lapland. There are splendid open views of the Torne Valley forested hills, the Torne River and Sweden behind the river. There is not really an actual border here, on both sides of the river there is lively collaboration between Finland and Sweden. It also takes only a half an hour to drive to Arctic Circle from Karemajat
You can arrive to Ylitornio for example by train. The train station is down in the Ylitornio center only three kilometers away from Karemajat. In the center you can find grocery stores and other comprehensive amenities. Nearest airports are in Rovaniemi and Kemi. When arriving by your own vehicle, you park free in our parking area.
Karemajat offers an awesome scenery, the wilderness spirit, and the varying terrain where You may enjoy natures peace and quiet. You can get around on foot or by bike and also experience different kind of activities and events arranged in the area. During winter months we offer rental skis and snowshoes.
Torne River Valley offers many things to see and experience all year-round, so take your vacation whenever it is suitable for You and enjoy the hospitality of Karemajat and Torne River Valley!

Karemajat has two electric saunas. Relaxing jacuzzi is always included in Your electric sauna reservation. In addition You can book the whole sauna area, and the barrel sauna and the hot tub is also at Your disposal.

BARREL SAUNA
Enjoy our barrel sauna that is located on the sauna areas terrace next to the hot tub. There is a wonderful view from the barrel sauna to the Torne Valley and it makes this memorable sauna experience even better!

HOT TUB
Relaxing in a hot tub is a wonderful experience itself and on top of that Karemajat provides also beautiful and mesmerizing views. This is an experience You do not want to miss!

Relax and enjoy! Your sauna experience is even more relaxing and soothing when You can also bath in a jacuzzi. Jacuzzi is included in sauna reservation, and you can add it also when booking a barrel sauna.

Karemajat provides banquet facilities for smaller and bigger events. The 200-seat panoramic restaurant is possible to divide in two sections. We have also smaller conference/party rooms, a private sauna area and catering services. Welcome to celebrate in Karemajat!

Karemajat provides conference facilities and meeting rooms for 40-100 persons. We provide projector, wireless microphone, flipchart and free Wi-Fi. Catering and other services are always tailored for the event in question.

LAPP HUT
Lapp hut is located right next to Karemajat Hotel. This cosy and ambient hut provides a relaxing and enjoyable space for different kind of events. Hut is for 40 people, and it can be reserved also as an extra room for your party, conference or meeting.

WINTER ACTIVITIES
Have a wonderful winter day cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or just enjoy the beautiful winter day in awesome scenery of the Torne Valley!
From Karemajat you will have a direct access to the lighted ski trails of different levels and lengths that wander throughout Ainiovaara. The distance to Aavasaksa Slopes is about 15 km. In addition there is a 150 meters long lighted sledge slope right next to the Karemajat Hotel.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Admire nightless night and midnight sun of Lapland, enjoy unique nature, hike or bike on the variety of marked nature trails, swim in the Torne River and enjoy the amazing views from many Torne Valley mountains.
It is easy to go for a longer hike or a biking tour from Karemajat, but you find also many things to do nearby. There is for example a 18-fairway frisbeegolf course and an easy nature trail right next to Karemajat Hotel.
There is a lot to do and see also in the summer!
